Built for overnight
The core absorbs quickly and holds what it takes on, so liquid does not migrate to the edge of the pad over the course of a night. That is the difference between changing a pad in the morning and changing bedding in the morning.
Waterproof backing

Comfortable against skin
The top sheet is a soft non-woven material. For nightly use this is the specification that determines whether a pad is tolerable — a rough or plastic-feeling surface causes irritation over time, particularly on thin or fragile skin.
